About the AuthorDr. Michael A. Berry has over 30 years of experience in the fields of management and public health. His professional interest in public health began in 1963 when he studied Arab refugee camps in the Middle East. He served as Army Engineer Officer in Vietnam, 1967-68, where he dealt with many public health issues related to the civilian population and refugees. Since 1969, he has worked in environmental management and research programs related to air pollution, the assessment and management of toxic substances, and indoor environments.
Berry received his Ph.D. in Public Health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He holds a graduate degree in management from Duke University's Fuqua School of Business. He has many years of teaching experience and is currently a Research Professor in the Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina. He is particularly interested in environmental education for professionals who manage businesses that affect the quality of indoor and outdoor environments.
