January 17th 2007

Albany, NY - (January 17, 2007) The Executive Committee for the Cleaning Industry Research Institute (CIRI) today announced plans for the 2007 CIRI Symposium and Conference. The 2007 Symposium is scheduled for April 30 through May 2 on the campus of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV).

The theme for this year's conference is "The State of Cleaning Science." Key speakers will include the five members of CIRI's Science Advisory Council (SAC): Dr. Steven Spivak, Chairman; Dr. Michael Berry; Dr. Marilyn Black; Dr. Gene Cole and Dr. Elizabeth Scott, as well as other researchers from academia and the industry.

"We have a number of exciting papers that will be presented," noted Jim Harris, CIRI Chairman of the Board. "Our SAC will be updating the industry on where we stand in terms of cleaning science. We expect to have papers that address green cleaning, and the role of effective cleaning in disease prevention."

The Symposium will start on Monday evening, April 30, with a reception. Papers will be presented all day on May 1 and the morning of May 2. The Symposium will end with a panel discussion regarding future requirements for cleaning science and research.

The CIRI Executive Committee met on January 3 and 4 in Hamilton Ohio at the offices of Kaivac, Inc. to finalize plans for the 2007 CIRI Symposium and Conference.
