Research Institute Partners With UNLV For State of Cleaning Science™ Symposium

Albany, NY - (February 27, 2007) The Cleaning Industry Research Institute (CIRI) today announced its partnership with the William F. Harrah College of Hotel Administration at the University of Nevada Las Vegas in presenting the 2007 State of Cleaning Science™ Symposium. The event will be held in the Stan Fulton Building on the campus of UNLV from April 30 to May 2, 2007.

The Harrah Hotel College offers one of the nation's leading programs for hotel administration. Dr. Thomas Jones, an associate professor at UNLV and author of the textbook Professional Management of Housekeeping Operations, has been a member of CIRI since the organization's inception in 2005. He currently serves on the CIRI board of directors.

"Cleaning is a critical aspect of proper hotel management," Jones said. "And effective cleaning must be based on fundamental scientific principles. CIRI's mission is to raise awareness of the importance of cleaning through scientific research. That's why I initially joined, and why I'm pleased that UNLV is acting as host for this event."

The Harrah Hotel College is a student and research focused academic environment committed to developing leaders while advancing the hospitality and leisure services profession. The Stan Fulton Building, whose professional staff works in conjunction with student interns from the Harrah Hotel College, is a full-service conference and research facility.
